Slovakian artist, Zaneta Belasicova (born 1980), graduated from the High School of Fashion Design, in Bratislava,  during 1999.  She then spent time working as a freelance painter, gaining commissions from private collectors to do copies of work by Monet, Renoir and Dali.

For a period Zaneta worked as a costume designer for ceramic hand made, one off,  dolls by the renowned Slovakian painter D. Polakova.  Since then she has been experimenting making her own dolls using a variety of techniques and materials.

In 2002 Zaneta came to London to study English, where she now lives.  Her work has been exhibited in several galleries and at the Slovak Embassy.  She is a member of the Doll Makers Circle and a full time Fine Art student.

"I am interested in all kinds of things," says Zaneta, "whether it's traditional art, crafts and design such as painting, drawing, sewing, photography."  Accordingly, her work embraces not only traditional materials, but digital technologies in order to gain the desired artistic effect.

"I work from my subconscious whenever I'm inspired and feel happy," Zaneta remarks.  "So like this I can communicate through my art and pass positive energy onto others."
